NEON LIGHTS UP MOSCOW

NEON Moscow, a dazzling charity fundraiser hosted by Naomi Campbell and Dasha Zhukova in Moscow on 24 May 2010, brought glamour, style and fun to the Russian capital in equal measure. RBCA was proud to project manage and produce the event which took place at Capital City – Europe’s highest building – in Moscow’s new ‘City’ development. Bringing together Naomi’s and Dasha’s friends from around the world, NEON raised an incredible $1.8 million for the IRIS Foundation, which promotes the understanding and development of contemporary culture, and Northern Crown, which provides education, medicine and training for Russian children.

The event featured a fashion show by leading international designers, a stunning auction of contemporary art and haute couture and an exclusive private musical performance by the legendary British rock group Duran Duran.

Guests at the event included international stars who attended at Naomi Campbell’s personal invitation, including Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony, and celebrity milliner Philip Treacey. Also in attendance were many leading lights from Moscow high society: major personalities from music, art, cinema, sport and fashion mixed with prominent politicians and titans from the business world. Amongst the many guests were Vladislav Doronin; Presidential Chief of Staff Vladimir Kozhin; Irina Kudrina; Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele; Kasten Holler; Alexander Zhukov; Valentin Yudashkin; Sergei Plastinin; Svetlana Metkina; Ksenia Sobchak; Valentin and Tatyana Yumashev; Sati Spivakova; Igor Chapurin and Umar Dzhabrailov.

The centrepiece of the evening was an exclusive auction, organised by Dasha Zhukova and conducted by the international auction house Sotheby’s. Up for sale were over ten lots, including works of art by many world-renowned contemporary artists, photographers and film-makers including Antony Gormley, Keith Coventry, Maurizio Catellan, David LaChapelle, Wim Wenders; as well as a pair of exclusive timepieces by Chopard, the evening’s Title Sponsor; tickets to the 2011 Academy Awards and the famous Vanity Fair Oscars Party; the chance to meet supergroup U2; and a beautifully customized BMW Z4 sports car.

NEON Moscow also featured a Fashion for Relief catwalk show featuring stunning looks from the collections of Dolce&Gabbana, John Galliano, Zac Posen, Givenchy, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior. Leading Russian designer Igor Chapurin had created a special NEON-inspired T-shirt, which all guests received in their gift bags at the end of the evening.

The evening culminated with a performance by the iconic English rock group, Duran Duran, followed by DJ Ruckus, who kept the celebrity guests dancing on the catwalk until 2am.
